How to defeat Umin
Part 1:
One player becomes the "Tank", to keep Umin over the spike traps (note: do not stand on the spike traps, they will damage and kill the players when set off), the tank should keep themselves, up against the south end of the ship, just behind the spike trap there, with their back against the wall therefore avoiding knockbacks and also placing Umin on the spike trap, the second player your "Healer", a Minstrel/Rune-keeper/Lore-master, will begin to chain heal your tank for the entire battle with Umin, the third player the "Trap-trigger" attacks Umin but never gets or keeps agro. At some point Umin will hit half morale, then you start the Part 2.

Part 2:
At this point, Umin's attacks have opened both the south and north ends of the ship, Umin uses the necklace, and becomes immune to all attacks, however there is a way to bypass this shield effect. When Umin strikes at the tank to smash him, he will get his hands stuck into the ship, at this point the trap-trigger will run the south end, on the overhead of where the tank is fighting Umin and step-on the pressure plate, this will set off the spike traps and remove Umin's shield from the necklace, now the tank and trap-trigger attack Umin for as much damage as possible before his shield comes back up. Once the shield is back up wait for Umin to get his hands stuck again, and repeat the spike trap on him.

Part 3:
Eventually Umin will hit less then 100 morale, he will then run to the middle of the ship, to heal himself, do not let him, use ranged attacks and keep hitting him (note: Umin if left alone, he will heal himself back to 1/4 of his morale, when he runs to the center of the ship, if this happens it will set you back to Part 2) but do not chase him to the center, the trap-trigger should now head to the north end of the ship, and step-on the pressure plate there, it will set off the blades trap, and then Umin's fight is over, he is defeated, he returns to normal, and he will now speak with you.

Well crap and also this:

When you cross onto the ship, our old friend Umin appears. He has decided you are no longer necessary, because he has found the necklace he was seeking. Apparently the necklace is corrupted, and gives him super powers, or something of the like. There is a tactic to this battle. When you have lowered his health enough, Umin will get his fist stuck in the floorboards and you are to "attack him from beneath". From there, face north and run up to the platform on the ship. There will be a pressure pad at the top. Step on it, and he will lose a barrier so you can attack him. Eventually he gets angry and starts lumbering around. Go south, to the other platform, and step on the other pressure pad. This will start spinning the blades in the center of the ship around.

After that, there is a battle with the spirit inhabiting the necklace. No tactics for this battle; just take it down as fast as you can. When you beat it, talk to Umin again, and cross to the side which holds the exit of the instance. There will be a chest there. From it, you will receive. at the very least, some skirmish marks and an inn of the forsaken mark. Then exit the instance at the top.

(NOTE: Gennyrose mentions that on Tier 1, you shouldn't have to battle the spirit of the Necklace; he only shows up on Tier 2. After hitting Umin with the second trap, the battle is over. For some reason, our Tier one instance had the spirit, however. Probably a bug with us. Confirm or Deny this for us in the comments?)

Final thoughts: Again, this instance is very fun to run, at least at low levels, and definitely something VIPs should try. I congratulate the developers who thought this up. It's quite original and something I (personally) would enjoy running again and again, with different class sets. If only it were provided to everyone, not just VIPs or in the Store... but I suppose I can only wish.
Grade: A.

Further notes, after a comment by Ilyrial of the Brandywine server! Both new instances appear to be a little buggy; so until I have these confirmed by another user, I'm going to put these down as possible bugs (but worth a try if you're feeling adventurous.)

*At the tombs, she said that she did not have to do anything in order; she just opened them one by one and made sure the levers were all pointing down. I think perhaps this may be an element to make it possible to complete with an undesirable groupset- the placards, and doing it in order, is probably just a shortcut if you do have the right group. (CONFIRMED that the 3 names are just a shortcut by Gennyrose of Landroval! On Tier 2, when the challenge shows up, you can either open all the sarcophagi and complete the challenge or just the three and continue on your way.)

*As well as that, she commented that after she hit Umin with the second trap, she did not have to fight the spirit of the necklace. Interesting... I do figure this one's a bug, and not just an integrated mechanic. (Probably Confirmed as a mechanic by Gennyrose of Landroval! Apparently the spirit should NOT have shown up on our Tier 1 playthrough of this instance. The spirit only starts showing up in Tier 2.)
Karma is a Bitch...thanks Ten
