I don't think they will bite, it's double XP weekend now and everyone is excited.
... and it seems that they are all boxing. These seem more like hard core EQ fanatics than a bunch of old school fans coming back after a long break. I'll grant you that they are nice folks and I'll stick it out for a while but have the feeling that it's not going to be a good fit for me.
Please try for a while. If we can't turn them then I will leave also. You do need to post your thoughts on their website though, hardly any feedback at all on there. Don't be bashful.
Cabkyn is 6, will still be 6 next Tuesday when Double XP is over so don't be in a rush to make a gnome. I had intended to try and catch up with the main group but don't think I could and see that you now have a wizard for porting.
I'll stay on the test server for a while and relive some of the old days of EQ but still need to decide what classes to play. I made a HE enchanter at first because everyone else was in Faydark but the main group already has one of those.
Mage is 6 also. I will park him. I am thinking of just quietly leaving the guild and fading away, with a PM to Merc. She is 21 now. Too bad, I had hopes.
Under the topic "Why I Made This Guild" Mercades said
I have no itentions of rushing thru these expansions. I am in no rush to raid.
But like you say leveling is a drug.
I'll wait a while and see how it goes. There are still quite a few guild members in the mid teens and it may turn out that there are others who are not in such a big rush. Mercades is on all day long and a couple of others have been spending hours a day at this. I can't match their pace.
And I must say that it annoys me when people box all the time. Probably shouldn't because I suppose that is their business. Lorarok would fit in well. There was a guy on late last night trying to figure out the best mix of classes to box 4 at a time, said he would do 6 but then wouldn't be able to group with others in the guild. Even when people are skilled at it I'd like to believe that two people playing two characters can perform better than one person playing two characters. In a group of 6 people I'd rather know that I'm playing with 5 other humans. In this guild the norm would be that you are playing with 3 others and one of them had to drop a boxed character to let you join. Rant off ...
I am going to propose a fixed group, all Gnome group, same rules but only one night a week with a soft cap. Would you be interested? Rawlden had a good idea.
Yes I would be interested but the XP bonus is killing me. I had to quit last night after I killed like 4 blue mobs and dinged. I thought I had been leveling awfully fast anyway and then today realized that the Test Server ALWAYS has the XP bonus. I want to play the game at a normal pace but would be willing to try the rogue group. I'll spend the weekend killing grey mobs and cooking/skinning them for tradeskill skillups. I'm ready to start making tattered armor, can make some for Dragr if he hasn't found anything that good yet.
I am strongly considering the Project1999 server but it requires the Everquest Platinum edition and they are around $50 used. I'll probably go for it, is only money.
From what I read, it is Titanium Edition. Than are screwed up though, there are level one Rogues running around with the Epic, through multi questing. That is so wrong.
I was talking to a guildie that. Plays on it and he said he used BitTorrent to DL the data.
I just removed myself from guild. I sent a PM about leveling too fast and her answer was...what do you mean leveling too fast, we are only level 25. When I logged on to return some banded that Merc gave me, they were in the mid thirties in Rath Mountains.
I left my option open for the Rogue Group, but not much hope. No posts except yours.
There is only one person in the mid thirties, two others at 31 who still have alts at 21. It looks like Mercades and a few others are holding at 21. I'll give it a few more days, am still enjoying running around and sightseeing.
I thought I had posted a reply to your last post but I guess the system ate it.
I already tried the download from Pirate Bay and ended up with extra stuff on my computer that I didn't want. I thought I unchecked all the boxes and answered no to everything but they still made changes to my system before I even got to the download part. I ended up restoring my system to an earlier time. Never trust a pirate!
I bought a used copy on EBay for $35, should be here by the end of the week. I'll give 1999 a try. If nothing else I kind of like the idea of playing on a server not run by SoE.
