My barbarian warrior Mansel traded something to Cabkin for a pelt, hoping to complete the quest and get a Werewolf_Skin_Cloak. He spent days out on the tundra waiting for the quest guy (Karg Icebear) to appear. When Karg finally showed up Mansel handed him the pelt and looking in his purse saw 100 plat, exactly what was required for the turn-in. When he gave the items to Karg nothing happened. It seemed like a bug so I submitted a petition on the forums hoping that the logs would show some kind of mistake. The petition was quickly answered by guide Eunomia and apparently the mistake was mine. It seems my eyes were not working well and I actually turned in 109 plat instead of 100, my life savings down the drain! Eunomia said that the plat could not be refunded but GM Sirken would review the case and perhaps refund the werewolf pelt.
Today, 2 weeks later, I got an email saying that Sirken had responded to the petition. He simply said "restored resolved". Hoping that he took pity on me and refunded the plat I logged on and found a werewolf pelt in my inventory but no money. The crazy part is that when I logged on, Mansel was standing in the East Commonlands near Freeport, in that spot where there is always a pile of bodies. I had heard that when a GM recovered a corpse that is where they put it. I guess when they refund an item they summon you to that same spot to return it.
Now Mansel is stuck in the Freeport area at level 10 with no money and a dangerous trip if he wants to run back to Halas.
