Tips fpr making plat
Tips fpr making plat
For any new players (Menset) trying to scrape together enough coin to buy things like backpacks, be aware that some common items are of value to other players. Bone chips especially are relatively easy to sell at the tunnel in the East Commonlands for up to 10P per stack of 20. Spider/spiderling silks can also go for 10P/stack but usually take longer to sell. One high quality bear hide is worth 30P. Low and medium hides maybe 2-3 P, unfortunately they don't stack.

Aye, I know what not to sell to vendors and wish I had the coin to buy some stuff people have sold... The hardest part has been getting backpacks so I am not forced to sell stuff due to a lack of space. I plan to use most of the stuff that would sell in EC but may make a sacrifice or two just to get over the initial pain of having no coin. One can usually sell stacks of bone chips in Nek forest, but you only get about 3pp. However, that is all I really need right now.

Selling stuff in the tunnel is slow. Was there on and off throughout the weekend and spent a lot of time hunting tradeskill drops in EC waiting for a buyer of bone chips or leather padding. Only sold 2 stacks of bone chips all weekend, but did get 20pp per stack. Never negotiated a price, person just sent a tell offering 20 per stack. I would have taken 5 at that point. Some people were trying to sell 30+ stack of bone chips. Stiff competition.
Several people were also looking to buy sets of banded armor. I think I'm 100 points shy in smithing to supply that market (still stuck at 68).
The most consistent low end buyers are looking for LQ/MQ pelts (various) and HQ bear. I've been using all my LQ/MQ for tradeskills so that does not leave much. Seems to be no market for shadow wolf pelts. After looting 4, I just dumped to a merchant.
Scraping coin together is tough. I'm left with tailoring ruined pelts into patchwork, which nets about 1g per pelt.
Some common sales seem to be:
Bone Chips: 5-10pp per stack
LQ/MQ pelts: 3-5pp each (usually only see buys advertised at 3)
HQ pelts: 25-30pp
DF Belts: 5-10pp each
Banded: 1pp per AC
Handmade Backpacks: 75-80pp

Re: Tips fpr making plat
I seem to remember Shadow Wolf Pelts being used in a few Newbie Armor quests but being of no tradeskill value.
But since there are no newbie armor quests on this server...

Everything will be alright in the end. And if everything is not alright, then it is not yet the end.
Re: Tips fpr making plat
Some people buy them for 25p each, but that is somewhat rare. I ended up dumping 6 to a merchant because I got tired of trying to sell them.
Looks like it's used in shadow silk recipes for shadowbound armor quests (http://wiki.project1999.com/Shadowbound_Armor_Quests)
... perhaps I should have held onto them :/

Re: Tips fpr making plat
After dismal loot and tough blue rock dervs in Lavastorm, I took Backfyre (16 RNG) back to West Karana to kill bandits for their bronze weapons and sashes (which give the reward of good XP and a bronze weapon). Over about 6 hours, I earned 450p and 2 levels. With Velious out, there seem to be a lot of open bandit camps. Bandits are now zero XP green so it's off to NK for XP with no loot unless I can get an elusive HQ lion skin off the highland lions, which are blue.
