Fine Plate Armor

My Dwarven smith has advanced his skills to the point where he is able to make any fine plate armor, not yet proficient on all pieces but willing to attempt any.

Prices to friends are at cost plus a 5% markup to make up for the failure rate:

So, IF we decide to go with my Pally as a tank, how much would our lucky and gracious lady's 500 pp get Him? That would get me out of the upgrade armor hunt for quite some time. Best pieces first if possible.

With a set of fine plate we might have to start calling you "Pretty Boy". 500 plat would get you all the visible pieces. I'll do some research and see how much of an increase over banded each piece is. I'm thinking stick with banded where the increase is smaller.

but you might want to think about spending some of that wealth on a good weapon if you need one.

I am looking for a Green Jade Broadsword. Only have 100 pp and they sell for 150 or so. I will find one. Pally DPS is almost nil no matter what but a great general grouping tank, maybe the best.

My retired Stein Getter may donate 500pp for the 5/55 rings. I lost a set of those in a drop transfer a long time ago.

I've managed to pick up Green Jade Broadswords for 100p or less, will keep my eye out. The Argent Defender (2HS) seems to be recommended for Pallys too. Pally DPS may not be the best but a good weapon should help with holding agro.

Yup but proper use of Flash of Light guarantees keeping them interested. The operational word is proper.

The AC difference between plate and banded is 3 or 4 for all pieces. The visible pieces all come in at 4 except Vambraces (sleeves) and Bracers. The only invisible piece with a 4 AC increase is the collar.

The weight difference varies between 0.5 for the face and 2.5 for the chest.

For mask I recommend a Vale Reinforced Mask, better than banded and currently on sale at the smithy in North Freeport.

The complete visible set would cost 492p. I recommend leaving off one bracer and adding a collar, which would cost 530p.

If you don't mind the look of naked arms then Azure Sleeves are the best option. Ambroise would sell you some for 25p.
