Twisted Heart

Post by SamL »

[hide] Walkthrough & Notes
Defend Longbough as he moves through the Twisted Grove. You will face 4 groups of 4-5 wood-trolls, so wait for Longbough to engage them and pick them off one by one. Longbough will provide you with heals, so survival should not be a problem if you're careful.
When you reach the pool at the bottom of the circular ramp, the boss encounter will start. There are two complications:
The Twisted Heart, which is waiting up at the top of the ramp, cannot be damaged while its roots are planted. It roots itself at 2/3 and 1/3 morale, at which point the tendrils need to be destroyed back down at the pool.
Heart-rot is constantly healed to full morale while the Twisted Heart is still alive.
You have two options for the boss fight:
Aggro Heart-rot and kite him up to the Twisted Heart while Longbough deals with any tendrils below. This is the quicker strategy but requires you to manage Heart-rot's attacks while you wait for the Twisted Heart to become vulnerable.
Allow Longbough to tank Heart-rot and run back and forth between Twisted Heart and the tendrils. This is the safer strategy but can require a protracted battle. Come prepared with power potions and recovery food.
After the Twisted Heart has been felled, Heart-rot will lose his recovery buff and go down quickly.

I don't remember what we tried before but maybe we just tried to kill Heart-rot at the bottom, which doesn't sound like it will work at all.

I vote for option 2

I also vote for option two. I think we tried to kill Heart rot and had no clue about the tendrils.
