Heavy Armor

Post by Cabkin »

I am guessing that Menset may be wanting to make his own armor but if you want something to tide you over until you can make the good stuff (cultural) I have a lvl 188 smith who can make banded armor and is progressing through plate as money allows. (would be happy to make armor if you want it)

Someone mentioned yesterday that dark elves are inherently weak so I don't know how much weight our cleric can handle. I could make a few pieces but a full suit might be too much weight. My gnome cleric has decent armor but can't wear it all without being encumbered.

Well, I got smithing to 68 last night and made a couple forged weapons (rapier and 2HS). I'll give the rapier to SamL and make a 1HB for Ten. I'm trying to collect tradeskill pieces while not leveling (much). I just dinged 6 and can now control level my level by going and smacking Slate a few times for old times sake :D

Been trying to figure out the armor on a budget and want to work toward banded. A banded chest piece is the goal and was thinking of getting reinforced leather (AC11) in the interim, but my tailoring is just at 20. Need to kill lots and lots of spiders and wolves. I can give you 6pp for a small banded mail piece or can buy the components and meet you at a forge. I might be able to afford 2 attempts since I have 3 metal sheets in the bank.

A couple things I need are some jewelry and a magic weapon. Some mobs (wisps, mummies) are not damaged by normal weapons. That will just take time.

I can meet you at a forge.

I have an enchanter that can make low level jewelry, around +2 stats. What stats are you looking to increase?

STR and HP for fighting
INT for tradeskills

Not sure what budget for now, perhaps 10pp. I have a couple stacks of bone chips I can go sell.

With the armor, can you get into Neriak or do we need to go to E. Freeport?

Since the tradeskillers among us need to kill for materials, perhaps we should dedicate some of our nights to gathering? It benefits us all.

I don't think I can get into Neriak, will check and see.

We are already pretty much killing the creatures that drop tradeskill items. I will need silks and skins to raise tailoring but am not in a hurry to do that. The biggest obstacle to tradeskills is coin, especially for smithing.

I'm guessing that jewelry will cost 2-3 plat each for the jewels and precious metal. I'll figure out what I can make that might be of interest and let you know.

I think tradeskill drops come quick enough just hunting as a group. That said, there may be specific needs now and then. It provides good objectives beyond just "kill them all".

Cabkin - we can just plan to meet in E Freeport. I have to run to the tunnel anyway. I may be able to be on later tonight and on and off through the weekend.

The only earrings I can make are +2 STA at 1P each
Rings: +2 STR 3P, +2 INT 1.5 P
Jaded Silver ring +5 HP, +5 MANA, +1 AC is 4P

Those prices are all a few copper below my cost to make

Ended up watching family movies... who should I put on my friend list to watch for this weekend? I have no idea when I can play. I need to get state taxes done this weekend.

As far as rings, I'll take 2x each of the str, int and sta. Need me to buy the electrum bars?
